Driving West (And a Little North) to Quartzsite, Arizona

Eric & I are leaving Mesa.

We turn left onto Arizona

We follow signs to
Interstate 10 West.

I'm glad that Eric is driving
in heavy traffic.

This is the second time Eric
hit the brakes hard to
slow down.

So this is how those
giant road signs are
installed...

This bridge abutment will support
a new bridge across I 10.

Traffic headed to Phoenix
is getting pretty heavy.

We leave I 10 West at
Exit 45...

... to get Diesel at Pride
Travel Stop.

With our Gas Buddy Card
we are getting an extra
20 cents off per gallon.

Saguaros are a welcome sight.

I 10  West snakes its way
through mountains.

Quartzsite is 7 miles away.

There is no way that tiny car
is towing that BIG boat.

Here's our Exit.

We turn onto Arizona State
Route/US Route 95.

Welcome Back Winter Visitors
... the welcome mat is out for you.
Town of Quartzsite

We pass Reader's Oasis Books.

Eric & I fondly remember our
January 2014 visit with Paul.

Sadly, Paul died on
May 7, 2019.

Next...

... RV Pit Stop for...

... Propane.

Without electric service, we
must rely on Propane for
heat on cold desert
mornings.

Right onto Plomosa Road...

Eric registers for our 2 week
BLM Permit.

We follow the signs to
The Boomers Group.

Eric parks the motorhome & we
tilt the Solar Panels to a 45
degree angle facing South.

This allows for the most solar
collection possible during the
winter months.

After settling in it's time to go to Boomerville's Blue Tent to sign in and check out Today's Activities.

It's updated each day.

Eric and I walk to the Happy Hour to hear the Day's Announcements and catch up with fellow Boomers.
