Demolishng a Home @ Monte Vista Village Resort in Mesa, Arizona

Eric and I were surprised to see a Backhoe moving along our road in Monte Vista Village Resort.  It stops in front of one of the homes across from us.

Its metal jaw opens and....

... the small house is
going down.

A neighbor tells me that the house was abandoned after its owner died.  Two other homes in Monte Vista Village Resort have been demolished this week.

Metal is separated into
a separate pile.

The work is methodical.

Heavy Equipment Operators are trained to use their tools carefully & efficiently.

A truck arrives to remove
the debris.

The truck is loaded from
the front to the rear.

I love construction and destruction.  I took a series of pictures of the construction of a new CVS in Rotterdam and the demolition of a church in Schenectady.

The interior of the
house is exposed.

The Backhoe's jaw opens....

... & plunges into the roof.

Debris is loaded into the
back of the truck.

The Backhoe gently moves
debris into a pile on the
driveway.

The truck is covered.

Another truck will arrive for the rest of the debris.

The Backhoe continues
the demolition...

The floor & frame are all
that remain...

... but not for long.

A worker keeps debris
out of the street.

Loading the second truck.

The house is gone.

The neighbor's fence
& shrubs are intact.

The Backhoe drives off
to its next job.

Eric and I wonder about the newly cleared site.  Will a new home be brought in or will RVs occupy it?
