"Checking Out" the New Mont Pleasant Library in Schenectady, New York

The community replaced its too small, overused building with this new one, named for former Schenectady Mayor, Karen Johnson.

The library has a defibrillator.

Video surveillance is used in
this urban library.

The Book Drop is handy.

A welcoming poster dominates
the announcement board.

Popular books & magazines

Tables & chairs welcome
visitors to stay awhile.

I am careful not to take pictures of families enjoying the Library.

This new library has lots
of choices for users.

Browse the Library Catalog....

Computers are available
for internet use,
report writing, etc.

The Large Meeting Room

A smaller one is next door.

Children's Books &
Videos

Picture Books

A Dad is sharing a book to his children.  They are hanging on his every word.

Summer Fun &
Safety Display

I expect the new Library will be crowded with excited Summer Readers.

Children's Computers
& more Children's
Books

There's parking behind the Crane Street building.  Stop in and support the Mont Pleasant neighborhood's newest public space.

Installing SnapPads on Our Hydraulic Jacks

Eric bought SnapPads to protect
the base of our Hydraulic Jacks.

An added bonus is the extra one
inch they add for leveling &
stabilizing our motorhome.

Dish soap makes it easier to install the SnapPads.

It is applied along the rim
of the pad so the pad will slip
on easier.

The Jack is lowered....

The pad is lined up
beneath the Jack.

Closer....

The jack is fully extended.

The slippery dish soap makes seating the jack's foot into the beveled edge of the SnapPad
easier.

Occasionally a campground or parking area will require pads under the jacks to protect the parking surface. With these pads we can comply without placing our regular pads under the jacks. This along with the extra inch of leveling capability AND the jack foot protection makes these SnapPads a good addition.

NOW we will see if they stay on over bumpy roads as advertised or will we lose one along the way..... Only time will tell.

are off of Exit 33.

We take the exit to
"Fair Verona."

Two households, both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient Grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their death bury their parents' strife.
-from the Prologue of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

Eric & I leave the Thruway....

... pass Turning Stone Casino Resort....

.... & arrive at The Villages

We park & register.

Eric & his bike at our campsite.

We have 50 amp electric service with good voltage, water, and sewer hookups.
