Eric & I Drive West to Sebring, Florida

I see rain coming down
in the distance.

It's sprinkling lightly as we start
our drive on the sandy road
that leads to Kissimmee

Our wheels hit pavement.

Our route west has some
curves....

A white bird keeps this
horse company.

Is it picking bugs from the horse's hide?

We turn onto US 98

Road Work Ahead

It looks like I've got some further reading to do....

Rumble Strips Ahead

Stay In Your Lane

One Lane Road Ahead

Here are the Rumble
Strips.

Be Prepared To Stop

Flag Man/Woman Ahead

Eric & I wait in line.

A Gradall Excavator is clearing
the ditches & dumping
 unwanted brush into trucks
 to be hauled away.

US Routes 27 & 98 North

Sebring is just 4
miles away...

We find ourselves behind
a truck full of Oranges.

The Sebring Water Tower

An hour & 15 minutes after
leaving Kissimmee Prairie
Preserve State Park, Eric &
I arrive at Highlands
Hammock State  Park.

Florida's State Civilian Conservation Corps Museum is located here.

Eric slows down to cross
 the Speed Table.

There's a line to enter
Highlands Hammock.

Eric & I settle into our
campsite, beneath the
trees, for our two
week stay.
