Keys View in Joshua Tree National Park








Eric drives to Keys View.







Keys View sits atop the





The haze in the distance is caused by pollution.








We walked along the paved path
 to view the Coachella Valley.











The dark area midway in this
photo is the San Andreas Fault.






The San Andreas Fault is the most famous geologic fault in the world.  Tectonic plates meet here and they move, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot.  The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake was the result of a rupture in the northern end of the fault. 




The day's bonus -

We see Big Horn Sheep
on a rocky hillside.

They blend in, look carefully!
