Hidden Valley Nature Trail in Joshua Tree National Park

We parked at the
Hidden Valley trail head.

There are oversize parking
spots for RVs.




A narrow gap in the rocks leads to a valley where cattle rustlers hid their booty in
the late 1800s.

Just months before Joshua Tree

National Monument opened

in 1936, Bill Keys blasted an

opening into Hidden Valley.

Eric points to a large gap

in the rocks.

Oh no!

An ogre is trying to

eat Eric!

This rock ringed valley allowed

moisture to collect here,

creating a unique micro climate.

The Pinyon Pine provides 

seeds for the park's 

birds & chipmunks.

Ginny & the rock piles.

A Western Scrub Jay 

sits in a nearby bush.

Eric reclines in a "rock recliner."

Retirement is hard work!

The Hidden Valley Nature Trail is a one mile loop.  It was a beautiful hike.
