For years the declining population of Detroit has made the news.  Some included photos of abandoned homes.

Some empty homes sit
in populated neighborhoods.

Some sit behind

 overgrown lawns.

Scorched by fire, this 

house sits empty.

Boarded up

& deserted.

Next came stories of abandoned neighborhoods, with block after block of empty houses.  Stories started to come out about Detroit's efforts to demolish abandoned homes,
thousands of them.
