Visiting Arches National Park in Moab, Utah

Arches National Park

Eric and I have Timed Entry Reservations to this very popular National Park.

Looking back at US 191 &

About 6 million years ago increasing pressure on the Earth's Crust caused a miles-long break or fault. The west side of the fault, past the highway, is 2,600 feet higher than where Eric and I are standing, on the eastern side of the fault.

Eric drives while I
take pictures.

A panoramic view that previews today's visit & Eric's video.

Many of the formations have names.

Erosion creates otherworldly
formations.

Different rock strata at Arches

beautiful formation.

Visitors climb up into the Double Arch and spend time there.  They look so small inside this massive Double Arch.

Eric & I look down onto

Sedimentary stone formed on top of a  Salt Dome.  As the stone continued to accumulate the weight of it pressed down on its weak foundation.  The Salt Dome collapsed, creating Salt Valley.

I took this photo with my
camera's long lens.
