Walking Around Downtown Rapid City, South Dakota

Eric & I stroll around Downtown
Rapid City after dinner at
The Wine Cellar.

Eric & I sampled Beers &
had a nosh at Firehouse
Brewing Company.

Downtown Rapid City advertises itself as The City of Presidents with statues of US Presidents displayed on street corners.

Martin Van Buren

15th  President

designed in 1911.

Abraham Lincoln, 16th President
& a Young Boy
I like to think it's his son Willie

in 1867.

I like this ornate roofline
ornamental finials.

Main Street Square is Rapid City's
outdoor gathering space hosts
special events, arts & culture.

During the summer a large
splash pad keeps children
& adults cool.

In the winter it is converted
into an Ice Skating Rink.

Who's Toy House...

... has a large outdoor Chess Set.

Franklin Pierce
14th President

I'm glad that the facades of
these older buildings
have not been altered
modern exteriors.

Calvin Coolidge
30th President

John F. Kennedy, 35th President
handing a toy airplane to
his son, John Junior.

I find this statue to be
poignant because both
the President & his son
died too soon.
