The Roe River in Montana Is the Shortest River in the World

We walk across Great Springs 
Road to the Main Entrance for











Eric & I walk to this pool.
It has submerged green plants.

Every minute or so a small
eddy of water that appears.





A fellow visitor explains that this is the Great Springs, which is fed from snowmelt and rainfall in the Little Belt Mountains, 60 miles away.  





Some of the water from the
Giant Springs flows into











The rest flows into the Roe River.  At 201 feet long, it's the shortest river in the world.

the Missouri River.
As part of the Great Rivers State Park, the banks of the Roe River are perfectly maintained.





A few hundred feet away from the
confluence of the Roe & Missouri
Rivers is  the Giant Springs
