Eric had Memorial Square listed in the GPS for today's drive. He found this obelisk and memorials on TripAdvisor.com. It's built on land where the Flathead National Forest and Lewis and Clark National Forest meet.

Plaques on this monument include this quote from President Roosevelt. "The forest problem is in many ways the most vital problem of the United States," and the Lewis and Clark National Forest Memorial to Theodore Roosevelt.
President Roosevelt's foresight created his mandate to conserve America's National Wonders for all Americans is the foundation of our National Parks System.

for the Great Northern
Railway who surveyed
Marias Pass for the
transcontinental rail route.
This memorial is for William H.
He squatted on 160 acres at the
summit of Marias Pass & donated
the land for these memorials.
The rest of Morrision's land was transferred to the Federal Government after his death in 1932.
