Walking Around Downtown Gaylord, Michigan

Gaylord's mural includes
Ice Fishing, lush summer
& fall landscapes,
& Downhill Skiing.

Gaylord's facades reflect the City's Alpine theme.

These two buildings were
built in 1900.

One half was a Grocery
Store & the other half
was a Cigar Factory.

This covered section of
street doubles as the
space for the weekly
Farmers Market.

The original brickwork on the
side of this building stands in
contrast to its updated facade.

mural is beautiful.

Claude Shannon Park is
open space between
West Main Sreet &
West Mitchell Street.

The Claude Shannon Memorial

He is the father of Information
Theory, which we rely on
for global communications.

Gaylord's War Memorials are
adjacent to the City's Convention

This 1901 building was originally
used as a Drug Store.

I'm glad that its owners kept the
original facade on the roof edge
& second floor.

Gaylord has a thriving, very walkable downtown.  Tractor trailers drive through this section of the City, requiring several traffic lights for visitors, shoppers, and diners to cross West Main Street safely.
