Taking the Ferry to Mackinac Island

Eric and I are going to spend the day on Michigan's Mackinac Island in Lake Huron.

Mackinac Island was formed about 13,000 yeas ago when the glaciers from the last Ice Age melted and the Great Lakes were formed.

There are two ways for people to get to Mackinac Island - take the Ferry from Mackinaw City or Saint Ignace to the island or fly into Mackinac Island Airport.

We drive to Mackinaw City
to The Gateway to
Mackinac Island.

We are bringing our bikes with us for today's island visit.

A Coast Guard Ship sits at anchor.

is tasked with patrolling The
Great Lakes.
