Historic Jefferson Depot Village in Jefferson, Ohio

Eric & I are touring Historic

All the buildings in this Village were built in the 1800s.  Some are from neighboring communities.

The Jefferson Depot is listed on the

Its distinctive construction is common across the country.

The dock is trackside.

Eric is hopping a train
for points west...

I'm going to miss him
& his RV backing
skills.

This Victorian home was
built in 1888.

This School has two doors...

One for girls & one for boys?

Eric & I spend time pondering
this stone "bench."

We decide that it's not a bench.  It's a set of Mounting Steps (Carriage Step, Horse Block), used by carriage and wagon passengers to descend from or ascend to carriages or wagons.

The Church Barn

In New York State, this structure
is called a Carriage House.

Eric decided not to ride the rails west and miss the rest of the itinerary he's laid out for us this summer and fall.  He and I leave Jefferson Depot Village to explore the rest of Jefferson.
