Shopping @ Mignosi's Super Foodtown in E. Stroudsburg, PA

It all started at The Piggly Wiggly in Manchester, Alabama...  I developed a fascination with grocery stores and supermarkets.  During my travels across the United States and in Canada, I've visited many markets, taken pictures, and written blog posts on no frills Grocery Store, Publix, Kroger, HY-Vee, Giant...

This is an important &
necessary product at
this time.

Mignosi's Super Foodtown has just about anything anyone would need.  Because it's close to Timothy Lake South Campground, Eric and I will return when we need fresh fruits and veggies.

Timothy Lake South Campground in E. Stroudsburg, PA

a mouthful.

It's so hot right now... temperatures are in the 90s.  Shortly after Eric and I set up our motorhome on Site 123, it rained cats and dogs...  The temperature dropped and we decided to explore this sprawling (300 plus campsites) campground.

There's no obvious access
to the tower on the left
end of the Office/Camp
Store/Laundry Room.

The Playground & Pool are near
the Office/Camp Store.

Horseshoe Pits & Shuffleboards

Travel Trailers are
popular here.

The owner of this motorhome
has an extra antenna on the
campsite.

An older Fleetwood Terry

I've only seen Terry
Campers while traveling.

The swirls on the outdoor rug
compliment the Trailer.

The fenced-in deck is
impressive.

This is my favorite
campsite...

It's outdoor space is
perfectly planned with
a bar, outdoor kitchen,
firepit & comfortable
seating.

One of several Bathrooms
with Showers

We approach two Deer
in front of a Cabin.

Eric walks up slowly,

One remains, looking warily
at Eric.

It moves off, into the woods.

This early1970s Chevy Truck
 is in great condition.

This is an optical illusion...

It looks like the porches of
these cabins are connected.

Some cabins, like this one
stand apart from others.

The Cellphone and WiFi reception is pretty poor here.  Other than that, Timothy Lake South Campground works as a home base for exploring northeastern Pennsylvania.

Driving Southwest to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania

Eric & I leave Rondout Valley
Resort & wave goodbye to

I think the SAMS Rock I
still there.

Our drive starts out on
US Route 209 South.

Though labeled a South, this
route runs southwest.

The overcast sky
threatens rain.

section of this house.

The empty road reminds
me of our drive east in
the Spring.

Welcome to Phillipsport

One of Sullivan County

Our drive takes Eric & me
onto New York State
Route 17 East.

Next turn...

I catch the Elevation Sign
1254 Feet

(This type of sign is easy
to miss on a drive.)

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign...

Welcome to Pennsylvania
pursue your happiness

Welcome to the
Pocono Mountains

Like the Catskill Mountains, to the north in New York State, the Poconos are a glaciated plateau.

These trees with flowers in
July catch my eye...

My best guess is that they

Please correct me if I've misidentified this tree.

Exit 46 takes us onto
US Route 6
toward Milford...

.. and more signs...

US Route 6 East takes us through
Milford before becoming

This section of the road
reminds me of an arbor.

Utility Trucks carrying new

northeast.

Eric turns off of US Route
209 South & follows minor
roads to Thousand Trails

He walks back to our our
motorhome after
registering at the Office.

We chose Site 123 because it
has open sky above for our

We have water, 50 amp electric
service & a sewer connection.

This Campground has a lot
of paperwork for us to read.

It's a colorful collection
for us to wade through.
