Today's Drive is Northeast to Stone Mountain, Georgia

Eric and I leave Skidaway Island State Park Campground to start our drive Northwest to Stone Mountain.

Our drive starts on Georgia
State Route 204 West.

Goodbye...

Eric and I were charmed by Savannah in 2013, returned in 2015 and were wowed this year by the city's St. Patrick's Day Parade

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

A new bridge is under
construction.

Trees leaf out along the
curving highway.

The shadow of our motorhome
as Eric turns onto the Interstate
95 North ramp.

Boots Unlimited is up the
road in Pooler.

We leave Interstate 95 for

156 miles to Macon

237 miles to Atlanta

There isn't much traffic
at10:20 am.

Tractor Trailers leave the

highway to be weighed.

The right lane is closed
up ahead.

Crews are replacing small
sections of the right lane.

Eric points out the Vidalia sign.

Our favorite sweet onions come
 from this region of Georgia.

Roadside mowing

Fewer trees are leafed out as
 Eric & I drive Northwest.

Yard Sheds are being
transported on a
flatbed tractor trailer.

Eric picked this rest stop to
 pull over & change drivers.

It's closed & that's OK.
There's plenty of Road
Shoulder to pull onto.

I take the wheel for my planned hour and a half drive.

Our drive continues on
Interstate 75 North.

This Fire Tower has Cell
mounted on it.

Warning Triangles keep vehicles
away from the Tractor Trailer,
which has broken down.

 beltway that takes us around
 Southeastern Atlanta.

We continue to drive
around Atlanta on
Interstate 285 East.

Noise Barriers are being built
along Interstate 285 North.

Traffic is much heavier
at 3:50 pm.

A Flatbed Tow Truck arrived
to tow this car from the
Road Shoulder.

We take the ramp onto
US 78/Georgia State
Route 410 East.

A Short Box Truck is
being towed.

Here's our exit for Stone
Mountain Park.

Many others are headed East to Athens.

Entrance

Eric & I are spending five
nights at Stone Mountain
Campground.

Eric & I are staying at a premium
site with a patio & gas grill.

We have full hookups: water, electric and sewer.  The campground provides free Wifi and cable. Our DirecTV dish found all our satellites for TV viewing.
