East... To Tijeras, New Mexico

Spring is in the air...  Eric and I are headed home, to Rotterdam, New York.  Eastward ho!

I love watching the scenery
change as we drive cross
country.

That's a WIDE load!

No flashing lights...

I wish this farmer a
safe trip.

Painted Desert Indian Center...

...with a Tyrannosaurus Rex

Westbound Interstate 40
traffic

Wind has eroded
this mesa.

We enter New Mexico, the
Land of Enchantment.

Eric reminded me that some Welcome New Mexico state signs have Zias.

152 miles to Albuquerque

This mountain looks like a
mashup of geological
formations.

I wonder if the perpendicular faces of the mountain are the result of mining.

A paint splattered truck...

Please vote:  Artistic  Yes or No

A 4% Grade...

No problem.

We drove a 13% Grade in British Columbia

Wide open plains

We are 17 miles from the
Interstate 25 Junction in
Albuquerque.

The city lies before us.

Another travel day....

Another fuel stop at
Flying J.

We continue east beneath the
"ribbons of highway" that move
traffic around Albuquerque.

Get your kicks on Route 66

Eric slows to 45 miles
per hour...

... so we can listen to
America the Beautiful
on The Singing Road.

Eric & I return to Hidden
Valley RV Resort in Tijeras.

The three white dots near
the right side of the
window are snowflakes.

It's 40 degrees outside, but
at 6,300 feet above sea
level, flurries occur.

Eric and I are here for a few days to enjoy the finer things in life: full hookups.  Access to running water, sewer and electric services are luxuries after two and one half months boondocking in western Arizona.
