Walking Around Ocracoke Village After the Rain

The sun came out...  Eric and I decide to take a walk around Ocracoke Village.

The harbor. The ferry sits at the dock.

The Wocokon is named for the
site where British landed
ships in July, 1585.

The ships expected to land at Wocokon, which is identical to what is now known as Ocracoke Island. This historical factoid is a bit confusing.

In the small village of Ocracoke, tourism and hard work, life and reminders of death are close at hand.
