The Ferry Ride From Cedar Island to Ocracoke Island

Eric called the Cedar Island Ferry and asked if our motorhome and car would fit on it.  Yes we can! The cost for both vehicles is $45.00.  We should arrive by 3:30 pm to get the last ferry northeast to Ocracoke Island at 4:00 pm.

Eric follows directions
to lane four.

We wait to board
the ferry.

People are instructed to stay in their vehicles until the ferry is underway.

up to date information.

We are leaving the dock
& heading out into
Pamlico Sound.

Our last look at
Cedar Island.

The purple line on the
GPS shows where we
are... out on the water.

As I leave the motorhome, I
notice that the front driver's
side wheel is chocked.

We are parked beneath
the the bridge, beneath
the hoist & small boat.

We fill up more than one lane.

There are tables &
benches inside.

Our Jeep & the car
parked behind us.

Most of the passengers are indoors, chatting, reading books.

Coffee is $1.00 per cup.

Fill your water bottles
at the water fountain.

I'm heading up to
the Sundeck.

The front of the ferry.

We won't see land
for over an hour.

That's the roof of our
motorhome outside
the Sundeck's window.

We are on board the
Carteret.

Eric is following the

We didn't see signs forbidding
