Driving Around the Lowcountry in South Carolina

The Ashepoo, Combahee and Edisto Rivers flow through this flat plain, creating one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the East Coast.  This area is known as the Lowcountry.

Our drive around the inland section of Lowcountry of South Carolina was on secondary roads. The towns and cities along our route are separated by pine trees, swamps and farm fields.
