The Carolina Hotel in Pinehurst, North Carolina

The Christmas Tree dominates
the hotel lobby,









The Christmas Village is
made of Gingerbread.










The hallway is festooned
with garlands & poinsettias.














We decided to stop at the
Ryder Cup Lounge
for a drink.









The Carolina Hotel opened when horse drawn carriages brought guests from the railroad station to the property,  The hand crank started motor car was a noisy rarity.  Men wore suits, shirts with detachable collars and Homburgs or Bowler hats.  Women wore corsets beneath their gowns and carried parasols to shield them from the sun,
