Mad Elf Ale & A Turkey Dinner, A Great Combination!

Kathy was out shopping one day for Troeg's seasonal Mad Elf Ale.  She found six packs of her and Dave's favorite holiday ale and....








A magnum of Mad Elf Ale.

This bottle holds nearly a
gallon of ale, or eight 12
ounce glasses.







Dave and Kathy are budget minded shoppers.  They amassed enough savings with one of their customer discount grocery cards to get a free turkey.  They looked for the smallest one they could find... a fourteen pound bird.  It will just fit into their microwave/convection oven.

This is the grand experiment and Eric and I are happy to be part of it.










After chilling the Mad Elf,
Eric opens the box.








This is a great way to
celebrate the turkey
experiment,




Pouring is a two
man job.






Meanwhile, the turkey bakes.  Kathy brings it our for basting.  It's been in the oven for four hours and the meat thermometer reads 180 degrees Fahrenheit.  It's done.





A beautiful bird!.






While the turkey rests, the sides we brought, rutabaga  and Brussels sprouts, are reheated.

The table is crowded with
Cranberry Sauce, Turkey,
Stuffing, Brussels sprouts,
Rutabaga & Homemade Gravy
with glasses of German
Gewurztraminer Wine.



Dinner was amazing!   Mad Elf Ale is a great pre-dinner beverage.

I am inspired to experiment with my microwave/convection oven to prepare large meals.
