Dinner at Petta's in Schenectady, New York

After running Petta's Italian
 Duane Avenue in Schenectady
 for 63 years, the owners

Eric purchased a Petta's Groupon and is taking Jerry and me to dinner.

Eric holds the door
for Jerry & me.

It's 5:00 and the restaurant is gearing up for a busy evening.

Photos of the Petta
family throughout
the years.

Eric's family lived around the corner from Petta's, on Strong Street, for many years.  He recalls Jerry giving him money and sending him to Petta's for a bucket of ziti and a container of meatballs when he was in elementary school.

Eric went to school with Kathy Petta, one of the Petta clan.  They were reunited a few years ago.  I remember Kathy telling the story of folding pizza boxes in exchange for money for a theater ticket.

Our dinners arrived.

Jerry's Baked Lasagna
is deliciously cheesy.

Eric is very pleased with his
Veal Sorrentino & Cavatelli.

I chose Chicken Sorrentino
with Linguini, a delicious
combination.

Capital Region residents, Petta's is open for business and is serving the dishes you've loved for years.  Enjoy dinner and reminisce about the memories you've made here.
