Admiring the Military Aircraft at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville, New York






The Empire State Aerosciences
Museum has a collection of
military aircraft on display.










But first, we must admire the



The Bell UH-Iroquois is
known as "The Huey."

This helicopter was in service
from 1959 to 1976.

It is on loan from the
United States Army.

As of 2008, a number of these
planes are used in California
to carry water to wild fires.

The Grumman A-6E Intruder was
in service from 1963 to 1992.

mid-air refueling.

The Republic F-84 Thunderstreak
was used as a ground support
fighter bomber in the 1950s.

Walking around and admiring these aircraft remind me of the airshows our family attended in the 1960s and 1970s at the Schenectady County Airport.  Eric and I continued the tradition of attending airshows with Adam and Diane.

to look like a MIG & used in
 the movie, Top Gun.

The Supermarine Scimitar is a
carrier based fighter used by
Great Britain's Fleet Air Arm.

This aircraft is on loan from the
Fleet Air Arm Museum in 
Yeovilton, England.






subsonic light attack bomber
that flew from aircraft carriers
& land bases during the
Vietnam War.

It is on loan from the National
 Museum of Aviation in
 Pensacola, Florida.

The weather was perfect for walking around and  learning about the military aircraft here in Glenville. Now, I want to go to an airshow.
