Salmon Run Campground & Cabins in Haines, Alaska

Six miles outside of
Haines is Salmon Run
Campground & Cabins.

Eric registers us for
one week.

There's comfortable seating
in the office.

The water sites have
electricity.

There is potable water here, but no dump facilities.  We have 100 gallons of water for one week and our gray and black tanks are empty.  We will not have to drive into Haines to dump our tanks during our stay.

The cabins are
very popular.

This is bear country.  Campers keep food inside their campers and tenters keep it inside their vehicles.

The dry camp sites
are spacious.

A river runs just behind
the campground.

Some of the dry camp
sites have a water view.

We are parked in a water site
TV this week.

Our Verizon cell connection here is 3G with two bars.  We will use our Verizon Jetpack for internet use. I've been blogging... ever so slowly.  Bandwidth is very poor.   This is the best we can do for internet here.

We asked around and ATT is the major provider in this area.  During the summer when the cruise ship is in port on Wednesdays, bandwidth is sucked up by the many visitors to town.
