There's a dead whale on the beach in Seaside, Oregon. Let's go see it!

We drove south on
US Route 101 to Seaside.

Channel 8 KGW sent news
trucks to cover the dead whale
that washed up on the beach in
Seaside Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

Our first glimpse of

It's not gray.

It's kind of peach colored
with gray blotches.

The marine biologist found the whale had been dead for a while before it washed up on the beach because of its state of decomposition.

A chunk of blubber, about
one foot square was removed
to test pollution levels in
the dead whale.

The whale is measured
for length - 12.7 meters
or 41.667 feet.

The marine biologist makes
observations & an assistant
records them.

I talked to people milling
around the whale.

Some watched it wash
ashore Tuesday morning.
