Shady Oaks Farm in Alba, Texas

Herman Meister talks to the
group about grassfed beef.

The Meisters raise Red
Angus cattle.

The herd of cows is raised for beef that is sold in area health food stores.

The grass is lush and green.  In the fall, the grass is usually brown in East Texas.

Members of the group buy
cuts of beef, hamburger.

I look forward to eating the
Rib Eye Steaks Eric bought.

We walked around the Meister's vegetable garden....

My first look at

After the plant flowers,
an okra pod grows.

The Meisters grow most of the vegetables they eat.  They eat as pesticide-free as possible.
