The Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum in West Branch, Iowa




The Herbert Hoover Presidential
Library is in Hover's hometown
of West Branch, Iowa.

This Presidential Library &
12 others are maintained
by the National Archives & 
Records Administration.








Lou Henry married Herbert 
Hoover in 1899.












Hoover graduated from Stanford University
in California with a Geology Degree.

Working as a Mining Engineer, Hoover
traveled all over the world.






Hoover was asked by the 
oversee relief efforts to the 








After World War I, Hoover
became Secretary of Commerce.










The Boulder Dam, later renamed 
Hoover Dam started started
under his watch.










Hebert Hoover easily won
election to the presidency 
in 1928.








Following the Stock Market Crash
of 1929, the country fell into
a severe depression.  




Many feel that inaction from the White House worsened the depression.  Hoover ran for a second term in 1932 and was defeated by Franklin Delano Roosevelt.











Herbert Hoover was ready & willing
to pitch in after World War II aid
Europe with the implementation
of The Marshall Plan.






Throughout his lifetime, Herbert Hoover was a humanitarian who worked on large projects to help those in need.  His presidency has been considered out of step with the massive problems faced caused by the Stock Market Collapse in 1929 and the economic devastation that followed.
