A Preview of Attractions in Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Kingston Town Crier, Chris Whyman, visited us at Rideau Acres Campground.  He brought brochures of Kingston with museums, restaurants, walking tours etc.  Chris introduced us to the history of Kingston and its place in Canada's history.

Chris also answered many questions about being a town crier.  From his clothing to what the phrase "Oyez!  Oyez!  Oyez!" means....  Hear ye!

Kingston will be hosting the World Invitational Town Crier Championships August 1 to August 5, 2013.  Wishing all who participate the best.

Town Criers are a special breed, and they all seem to know each other.  I asked, and Chris knows Squire Frederick, from Maryland.  He does.  The Squire is my cousin.
