Walking Around Historic Savannah, The Homes

The houses are beautiful.  The many trees and Live Oaks with swaying Spanish Moss give Historic Savannah a restful feel and make photographing homes a challenge.

The houses near the
squares are large.

I love the porches.

This house is nestled
in between two larger homes
on a street between squares.

Trees obscure most of
the cast iron decorative
balcony on this house.

with its Cast Iron Portico
(I wish all the houses were labeled.)

Many homes are
multi-family.

This house has a sweeping
staircase off each end of
its columned porch.

As we walked along the streets of Historic Savannah, I imagined liveried servants
assisting the genteel of Savannah society as they depart their carriages
for lavish parties.  Ah, Southern Hospitality....
