Walking Around Charleston, South Carolina

The homes are lovely.
I liked the ivy covered
stairs on this house.

Charleston is a city
of flowers.

Kale is used in the
border of this garden.

This statue of John C. Calhoun
is the focal point of Marion Square.

The US Custom House on
East Bay Street

It was saved from demolition
by public support & restored
in the 1960s.

The Carnival Cruise Ship
Fantasy was boarding passengers.

East Bay & Vernon Streets

The accents on this
building make it
a stand out.

The porches on this house
face parking slots.

I imagine green space here
when the house was built.

Charleston is a growing, busy city that protects and preserves its architectural history.
Charleston was rated number three in Travel + Leisure Magazine's 2009
Friendliest People Survey.
