Charleston City Market

I wanted to visit Charleston City Market.  From studying maps of Charleston and reading about the city's attractions, I found that the Market is located within walking distance of the waterfront,, so there will be lots of things to see and do.

This site has been the site of
a market since the 1790s.

The current building was built in
1841.  It is the entrance to four
blocks of open air buildings.

I love the Greek Revival
architectural  style of this building.

Items sold in the Market
include jewelry, quilts,
children's clothing, art work,

This is one of open air buildings
that are part of the Charleston
City Market.

Sweet Grass baskets are
displayed to the right of the
doorway.

Charleston City Market is open year round.  It's a great place to visit
during walk around this lovely city.
