San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua

We took a fifteen minute drive into San Juan del Sur on the Pacific Ocean.  The horseshoe shaped beach is so beautiful!  This area is very popular with surfers.  This area is easy to navigate on foot and by car. There are small hotels, beer tents just off the beach, condominiums and many, many restaurants.  San Juan del Sur is also a port.  Cruise ships dock here.

Colorfully painted businesses
line the street just off the beach

The Crazy Crab looks
like a fun place.

The Hotel Victoria is just
across the street from
the beach.

Many people speak English here, so this is not an intimidating place for non Spanish speakers.  Besides the beach there are many activities.... horseback riding, paintball, Spanish classes etc.

And it's a gorgeous
beach!

This beach side hostel is
a short walk from
restaurants and bars.
