One Block in Downtown Schenectady, New York

After shopping at the Schenectady Greenmarket, Eric and I took a short walk around downtown Schenectady

Proctors is the jewel in the
crown of downtown
Schenectady.

Check out ticket sales for
Wicked.

It opens on Wednesday.

Across from Proctors Theater
is Jay Street

This paved block long
shopping area is
home to many
small shops.

Katz Kafe is Eric's
coffee on Jay Street.

Ornate overhanging
windows adorn one
of the buildings.

The Open Door Bookstore.
everyone's favorite
bookstore is for sale.

Eric likes the scrolled, interlinked
date of construction on
this building.

We like the Art Deco
ornamentation on
the Goodman Building.

There's lots of architectural
details on just one block.

This cornice was restored
a few years ago.

Walking around downtown Schenectady is more fun on a warm, sunny day.  During the summer there are lunchtime music performances here.
