Eric & I visit The National Quilt Museum
This Museum is dedicated to Modern Quilts. The oldest Quilt in the collection was made in 1984.
"Floating" by Fraser Smith appears to be a draped Quilt.
It is made of wood & painted with watercolors.
The sign next to the "Floating" says Please Don't Touch.
Eric and I want to touch this Quilt to confirm what it's made of wood. We don't. Eric asks Staff at the front desk about the Wooden Quilt. We are assured that it is made out of wood and we are advised to look at it from the side.
Eric & I are amazed.
Fraser Smith is renowned for his work in wood. Please click on his name and see his creations.

The National Quilt Museum had 750 Quilts in its Collection. The Quilts on display rotate throughout the year. The ones that are not displayed are carefully stored between layers of Acid- Free Paper and stored in a dark, climate-controlled vault.
One Gallery has an exhibit
