Summer in California: Northwest to Paicines

Interstate 15 North

Eric & I retrace most of our
 drive from Acton, on our
 way to Paicines.

West toward Palmdale

The last car of a train -
this is a rare photo.

Traffic is moving smoothly
at 10:00 am.

I take pictures of this
ribbon of water each
time we drive past.

Returning to California State
Route 138 North

Today's drive takes us on
unfamiliar roads from
here on.

Boondockers in an open field

Working on power lines

Interstate 5 North toward
Sacramento

Elevation
4,000 Feet

The Credit Price for Diesel
is $4.58 per gallon.

Anything under $5.00
in California feels like
a bargain.

California's Cattle Stockyards
look a lot like the ones in Texas.

Here's our Exit.

These "dunes" are rolling
 hills of dried grass.

This is a scenic drive.

Eric & I pass farms.

Cattle graze roadside

The road turns & there are
fields of Grape Vines.

We arrive at Thousand

Registration & the
Camp Store

Our pull through Campsite
has full hookups.

The Voltage is OK... 115.

Eric and I enjoy the benefits of partial shade and can watch the Nightly News.
