Driving to Free Camping in Kaibab National Forest in Arizona

It was impossible to get reservations at campgrounds on Memorial Day Weekend near the Grand Canyon.

That's OK.  Our motorhome has a 100-gallon freshwater tank, solar panels, and a generator.  All we need is a place to camp without hookups.

Eric turns right onto
 South for our drive
 towards Williams.

We leave Grand Canyon National Park...

... & enter Kaibab

As if on cue, a helicopter
appears before us.

This region of  Northern
Arizona
is fairly flat.

A bicyclist shares the road
with cars, trucks, & RVs.

Eric stops  at the Chevron next
to Valle Travel Center.

While he fuels up, I take pictures of the cars and trucks displayed outside.

Prey Park

welcomes visitors

There's a fire up ahead.

With so much smoke
I'm sure it's been reported.

Road signs assure drivers that this is a Prescribed Burn.

They're everywhere...

Another sign for Kaibab
National Forest.

Eric turns onto a dirt road.

is where we will stay until we
can continue on to our next
campground near Cottonwood.

Campers have plenty
of space here.

The sun charges our Battle Born Lithium-Ion Batteries.  Our DirecTV Satellite Dish is set up for TV viewing.  Internet Access is excellent with our Starlink Internet Dish.

A few of our neighbors...

The paint job on the
van goes with the
motorhome.

This motorhome & van
are well coordinated.
