Visiting Bemidji, Minnesota, Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox

Welcome to Bemidji, the Mississippi River's northernmost city.

                                                  We visit Paul Bunyan Park.

Eric & I pose with Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox.

Paul Bunyan was a Giant Lumberjack who was born in Bangor, Maine.  He grew so big that there wasn't enough room for him in the East, so he struck out for wild, untamed Minnesota.  He could cut down twenty trees with one swing of his axe.  After Logging, he roamed far and wide.  During the winter of Blue snow, when it was blue and cold, Paul found a small Blue Ox jumping around in the snow.  Paul took a liking to the little fellow and named him Babe.  They traveled and logged together, and Babe grew enormous!   Paul and Babe amazed everyone they met with their feats of tremendous feats of strength.  Loggers told their story around campfires and the Legend of Paul Bunyan and Babe, the Blue Ox grew and grew...

I clown around with Paul and Babe the Blue Ox.
They've been here since 1937.

Eric holds Paul's hand.

It's fun to visit Paul and Babe, two of America's legends.
