Celebrating My Birthday @ The Bascule Bridge Grille in Ashtabula, Ohio

We are celebrating my birthday at Bascule Bridge Grille

Eric chose this
Restaurant for
ts upscale Menu.

The Bar

Eric & I are seated in the
formal dining area.

Eric chose an intimate table
for our dinner.

We chose a Riesling from
the Kosicek Vineyards,
a local winery.

We start dinner with a
Charcuterie Tray.

For our Entrees, Eric chose
& I chose a Caprese Salad
with creamy Burrata Cheese
& Heirloom Tomatoes.

We both agree that we made excellent choices.

Moe took a photo of
 Eric & me with our
 dinners.

I had the Prime Sirloin Steak with Blue Cheese, Fried Brussels Sprouts with Hazelnuts, and Whipped Golden Potatoes.  Eric chose the Swordfish Steak with Garlic Aioli, Fried Brussels Sprouts with Hazelnuts, and Roasted Potatoes.

Dinner is so delicious!  The Bascule Bridge Grille was an excellent choice for this special meal.

Eric & I share Tiramisu for dessert
with glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon
from the Kosicek Vineyard.

It is the perfect ending to our
celebration.

Bon appetit!

A Visit to Downtown Ashtabula, Ohio

Cars & trucks cross the Ashtabula River on the Bascule Lift Bridge.

When the counterweight on the left goes down, the bridge deck rises to let boats continue on the river.

A Coast Guard Boat sits at anchor.  The Coast Guard patrols Lake Erie and the other four Great Lakes.

A shot of Eric & me
with the bridge.

The Ashtabula sign
& me.

This section of the river was home to several industries that polluted the waterway.  Following the adoption of the Clean WaterAct in 1972, this section of the Ashtabula River was dredged and toxic sediment was removed.  The reclaimed area is beautiful!

A walk along Bridge Street...

Eric & I like Ashtabula's early
20th century buildings.

The tower on the building on
 the left is stately.

I like the cornice work
at the rooflines of the
buildings.

Eric takes a picture of
me walking along the
street, looking at
buildings.

Many of the RVs here belong
to seasonal campers.

Geese swarm the lawns during
the rain for freshly watered
grass.

Eric and I love this Campground.  The buildings and grounds are beautifully kept.  Every RVer has a spacious site AND the electric service is steady and reliable.  The seasonal campers are very friendly.  We look forward to returning and strengthening new friendships.
