The Bonnie & Clyde Amush Site Near Sailes, Louisiana

Eric follows Highway 154 south toward Sailes.

The directions on the Roadside America listing are perfect.

There's room for our motorhome
& tow car in the pull-off.

Eric reads the Monument
& Bienville Parish Marker.

A closer look...

The Monument has been
shot at & defaced.

The Parish Marker has
fewer drawings on it.

Visitors leave empty beer
bottles & cans at the
Monument.

It reads:
This Site May 23, 1934
Were Killed By
Law Enforcement Officers

Visitors leave Coins &
  Stones on top of it.

They show that someone
who cares visited.

Bonnie and Clyde didn't care about rules.  Some visitors to this site have mused that they believe the lawless duo would not be bothered by the graffiti on the monument.

We add a small note on the
stone, next to a gouge
caused by a bullet.
