The Golden Gate Bridge is built over the Fort.

Entering the Fort through the Sally Port.

Construction started in 1853.

This is a California Historic
 Civil Engineering
 Landmark.

This side of the Fort housed the Officers & Enlisted Men's Quarters, the Hospital, the Kitchen, Mess Hall & storage,

A look through an open Embrasure.

Think about the possible cannon
angles.

Looking straight out from the
top of the Fort.

A close-up of the Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse Keeper saved
many lives & tons of cargo.

The substructure of the Golden
 Golden Gate Bridge wraps
around the top of the Fort.
