Driving Southeast to LaPine, Oregon

Eric & I return to foggy US Route 101 South to start our drive.

We take the ramp onto Oregon State oute 18 & drive towards Salem.

I enjoy looking for autumn colors.

Oregon State Route 22 East joins Oregon State 18 Route East.

The sun struggles to make an appearance.

Eric & I pass rows of trees under a bright sun.

Eric follows signs into Salem.

He does a great job of following signs in a crowded city.

Bend is 119 miles away.

It's north of LaPine.

I take the wheel & drive slowly around mountain curves.

Eric puts his feet up & takes pictures.

I drive through Mill City.

Eric gets a pic of Big Cliff Dam on the North Santiam River.

The water level below the dam is very low.

The Oregon Drought Map shows this part of the state is in a drought.

I follow signage for construction zones.

It's time to swap drivers.

Eric follows the roundabout signs to US Route 20.

This is the same Route 20 that goes through Albany, NY.

Sisters is a quaint Old West town.

Eric drives through Bend and takes the ramp...

... to US Route 97 South.

Newbury National Volcanic Monument

Our first stay was in September 2012.

Eric is registering in the Office.

Our campsite has 30 amp electric service, water
& sewage connections.
