Driving Northwest to Smith, Nevada

Eric & I leave LITTLE A'LE'INN
& hit the open road.

The road north is pin straight.

Cattle cluster near the road
in this Open Range.

Now we know that US 6
is at the end of Nevada
State Route 375 North.

Warm Springs is now a
Ghost Town with just a
 handful of buildings.

Tonopah is 49 miles ahead.

Welcome to Tonopah,
home of...

The Clown Motel ...

... is creepy.

It's next to a cemetery.

I take the wheel...

... while Eric takes pictures.

We drive past Hawthorne Army

Homes along Walker Lake

The road ahead hugs
the mountainside.

Major Sheep Crossing,

Eric & I follow the
US 95 Detour.

Our next waypoint is
Yerington, 24 miles
away.

The road gently curves
as we enter the valley.

Watch for Deer for the
next three miles.

How green is my valley...

I wonder what the cash
crop is.

Welcome to Yerington

Unleaded Gas is $3.15
 a gallon.

Diesel is $3.03 a gallon.

The Bail Bond Office
is open for business.

We turn onto Nevada State

Just 20 miles from Smith...

Hay is the area's cash crop.

Proof of Aliens in Nevada...

... a Flying Saucer shaped
cloud

We take this turn slow....

There is no guide rail on
other side of the road.

Eric & I arrive at
Walker River Resort.

We drive past a Conestoga Wagon.

We register at the Office.

It's Saturday & there are
lots of campers here.

One of the Resort's cabins.

Many brought their ATVs
with them for off-roading.

Eric & I settle in...

We have water & 50 amp
electric service with
good voltage.

We'll empty our tanks at the Dump Station when we leave.

Eric with his celebratory

Dinner will take care of itself...
