Still Under Construction: The Bridge @ Soledad Canyon RV Camping & Resort

When Eric registered at Soledad Canyon RV Camping and Resort, he was told that the bridge that connects this sprawling campground is under construction.  He was instructed to drive along an adjacent road to the entrance to N Section, where we are parked.

I am happy to watch a

Eric & walk downhill
every day to take
pictures of the
process.

The culverts are in
place & dirt has
been brought in
to cover them.

The dirt is being watered to help compact it.  The dirt foundation of the bridge must fill in any empty spaces to keep it from settling unevenly over time.

The dirt is graded.

The land at the base
of the culverts
is graded.

Boulders are brought
in & sit on the bridge
for a couple of days.

After a few days of
compacting the
bridge's dirt base, the
boulders are moved
to the base of the
culverts.

They have been placed there to prevent erosion at the base of the culverts.

Then construction was
halted.

I went to the Office &
asked about the delay.

The construction company is applying for a permit to continue the bridgework.  It will continue in a week or two...  Eric and I leave tomorrow.  We won't see the completed bridge and we won't drive our car or motorhome over it.
