Driving West in Oklahoma





Eric & I return to The
Will Rogers Turnpike,
headed east toward
Tulsa.





A bridge connects two
Roadside Service
Centers. 







Will Rodgers Memorial
Museum & Birthplace
Ranch is in Claremore.






We leave  Interstate 44 at Sapulpa
 







A Phillips 66 Gas Station







The first Phillips Gas Station in Witchita, Kansas was opened on November 19, 1927, so close to the newly built US Route 66 Highway that 66 was added to the Gas Station's Name.  Later the Company formally added 66 to its name.

lawn ornament.





The Land Office was a busy
place when Chandler was
in its infancy.






The Land Office Staff did survey work to plat the town and administer the sale of public lands.  The building is now American Eagle Title Company.  Surveying and the registration of property sales and transfers continues today.

A truck filled with explosives exploded in front of the Alfred Pl Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995.  One hundred sixty-eight 168 men, women and children were murdered and hundreds more were injured.  The Memorial is a moving tribute to lives lost and changed forever by terrorism.
