Southwest... to Menifee, California

Eric & I pack the motorhome &
start today's drive down the
 mountain south of Banning.

This is our first outing with the Dash Cam.  Eric sped up the video and added music.

Road Work Ahead

We are waved on.

The Pilot Vehicle must
have recently left with
northbound cars & trucks.

A shot of Banning from the
passenger side window.

Eric & I catch up with the
other northbound vehicles.

The southbound side of
the road is being
carefully groomed.

Debris from small rock slides was cleared from the southbound lane a few days earlier.

The road ahead...

The mountain on the far
side of the valley is
dusted with snow.

Eric is surprised to see an

He assumed this company
had outlets in the Northeast.

This section of California
State Route 79 is an
easy drive.

This flat land is perfect
for farming.

The trio of Frankentrees
fool no one.

Eric points out the superelevation
on this section of road.

This is common in road construction to ensure that drivers negotiate turns safely.

Eric & I pass walled-in
subdivisions...

... & arrive at Thousand Trails
Wilderness Lakes Resort &
Campground.

We are third in line to
register.

A motorhome sits in the
road, waiting to turn
into the driveway.

Our campsite is set up for
 our weeklong stay.

We have 30 amp electric service; water and sewer hookups.  Our DirecTV Satellite Dish provides television reception.

It's time to investigate our temporary neighborhood.
