Someone is mowing the grass
& trimming around gravestones
in this small cemetery.






I just read an article in The Daily Gazette about neighbors bringing their lawnmowers to the untended Fisher Cemetery in Rotterdam and making it accessible to visitors.  Small cemeteries face daunting odds to finance yearly maintenance costs.

Sections in General Municipal Law and Not-for-Profit Corporation Law offer options for small cemeteries that are underfunded.  In the meantime, volunteers clean up cemeteries throughout New York.

A brief search of the internet led me to SaratogaNYGenweb and the listing of county cemeteries.

This is the Wood Cemetery.

I don't know who is taking
care of the grounds.

I am grateful to the volunteers that listed all the graves in this cemetery.
