Schroon River Escape Lodges & Resort in Diamond Point, New York

Before Eric and I retired in 2012, we purchased a Resorts of Distinction Membership at Schroon River Escape Lodges and Resort to Schroon River Escape Lodges and Resort.  During our travels, we stay at membership parks for up to two weeks at no cost.

Eric and I returned here in 2014 when we were considering upgrading our membership.  Our purchased upgrade allows us to stay at ROD membership parks for three weeks.

This is our first camping
experience at the Resort.

The Trading Post is stocked
with candies, toys, camping
items & food.

It's also a Wifi Hotspot.

Bathrooms, Showers & the
Laundry are in the rear of
the Trading Post.

The washing machines are $1.50 per load.  Dryers are $1.75 per load.

The Playground & Basketball
Court are next to the Trading
Post &...

... the A Frame, the children's
activity building.

The Pavilion is the Adult
Lounge & a Wifi
Hotspot.

The Swimming Pool is located
next to the Pavilion.

Campsites beneath the
pines

This area has back in and pull through sites.

Nearby Restrooms

Most of the roads here are hard packed gravel.

Eric & I are parked in an open
area that has pull through sites.

We have DirecTV Satellite
access here, water, sewer
& 30 amp electric service.

Sadly, this older campground has low voltage issues that can damage RV electrical systems, especially microwaves and  air conditioners.  Just after 4:00 pm on Friday Eric checked our electrical readout panel and saw that the voltage supplied by the park was running low (100 volts).  Low voltage heats up electric motors.  The extra heat shortens the life of appliances.

I am particularly concerned about our Air Conditioner/Heat Pump.  It's an expensive appliance that I don't want to replace.

With extra weekend campers, more people are using air conditioners, microwaves, etc. and straining the campground's older electrical system.  Eric started our diesel generator to keep our motorhome's air conditioner and appliances running safely, with proper voltage.

One of five cabins in the resort.

This one has firewood waiting
on the porch for its next guests.

This steep incline is labeled,
& paved.

The Schroon River flows past
this section of the Resort.

Two of three small Yurts

Yurt and cabin guests bring their clothing, toiletries and food.  Schroon River Escape Lodges and Resort provides the rest... Beds, linens, cooking equipment and lawn furniture.

A nearby tent

The Restrooms in this section
of the Resort is a modified
camping trailer.

This 1981 Eagle, custom built
by Case, is for sale.

I inspect the exterior and am very impressed with this 38 year old motorhome.

Canoes & kayaks are available
for campers to rent.

The Beach is quiet
today.
I'm glad that Eric and I decided to camp here.  We are comfortable and are enjoying some "down time."
