Lunch @ The Causeway Restaurant in Gloucester, Massachusetts

Staff at Cape Ann Campsite asked Eric if he likes to eat like a local when he registered.  He said, "Yes."  She recommended The Causeway Restaurant for our visit to Gloucester

Today we are eating lunch where the locals eat.

Eric waits for me at the
Causeway Restaurant's
door.

Some diners eat at a small
counter, across from the
kitchen.

A short list of this locals'
favorite eatery is posted
on a white board.

Souvenir Tee Shirts decorate
the wall of this small
restaurant.

The dining room's far wall is
decorated with images of
Gloucester.

Seating at the front
windows

Mmmmm...........  what will lunch be?

Eric asks about the Beer List and finds out that The Causeway doesn't have a Liquor License.  Diners are allowed to bring in alcohol; good information for future visits.

Eric orders a Lobster Roll
with French Fries &
Coleslaw,

I ordered a very large bowl of
Clam Chowder.

Note to self, if the price of a
Cup is $7.00, it's probably a
large cup....  Order that.

The food is great!  The Lobster is gently tossed in Mayonnaise, keeping pieces in tact and producing a flavorful Roll.  The French Fries are perfect.  This Coleslaw is made with Mayo, the style that Eric and I prefer.  The creamy Clam Chowder has abundant Clams and Potatoes and is a full meal for me.  I didn't bother to add the Oyster Crackers that came with it.

Thank you to the staffer at Cape Ann Campsite for recommending The Causeway and their "good eats."
