The Bay St. Louis Visitor Center's Mardi Gras Museum

Government, businessmen and residents of Bay St. Louis started talking about the coming railroad line in 1839.  The New Orleans, Mobile and Chattanooga Line started carrying passengers in 1870.

The railroad and the businesses that supported it were an economic boon for this City's struggling economy during Reconstruction

This Depot, built in 1928,
replaced the original that
was consumed by fire.

The Visitors Center has local information and historical displays.  Latonja tells us that the Depot is the perfect location to share Bay St. Louis' rich history with tourists.

is the most visited section
of the building.

Many themes can be seen in
Mardi Gras costumes, including
a salute to America's West.

Mardi Gras Royalty

This is Eric's favorite
Mardi Gras couple.

They're clad in purple
regalia.

Pretty in Pink

Turquoise is the chosen
color for this
Mardi Gras Krewe.

Latonja recommends Eric and I visit The Alice Moseley Museum on the Depot's second floor.
